Letting Go of Psychology Studies to Chase the Dream in Germany through the Ausbildung Program

In the midst of her psychology studies, Angela Jovanca, a July 2021 graduate of Rudi Russel Akademie decided to abandon her studies to chase her dream in Germany. Even when many questioned and doubted her decision, Angel remained steadfast in pursuing her dreams.

“In the years 2019 to 2020, I was pursuing a degree in Psychology for 3 semesters at a university in Bandung. However, during that one and a half years of study, I felt that this field did not align with my interests. I doubted what I was pursuing,“ she recalled, reflecting on the turning point of her carefully considered decision.

Before Angel decided to leave her studies, in early November 2020, she learned about the Ausbildung seminar held by Rudi Russel Akademie from her parents. It sparked Angel's interest in learning more about the Ausbildung program in Germany.

“My reason for joining Ausbildung is because of the clarity of job prospects after completing the program, the exciting opportunity to work with foreigners, and the significant salary as a fresh graduate after completing the Ausbildung program“ Angel explained about the Ausbildung Program.

On November 30, 2020, Angel decided to leave her psychology studies and applied for the Ausbildung Program for the July 2021 intake through Rudi Russel Akademie. While waiting for German language classes to begin, Angel started learning German independently using language apps. She continued self-studying German from December 2020 to June 2021, discovering her passion and thoroughly enjoying the process of learning the language.

She also mentioned that one of her friends was an alumnus of Rudi Russel Akademie. Seeing this, Angel observed concrete evidence that Rudi Russel Akademie successfully launched its students into the world, and she felt that the curriculum used by Rudi Russel Akademie was excellent, enabling her to understand what she was learning easily.

In July 2021, Angel started German language classes from level A1 to B1 at Rudi Russel Akademie until December 2021. Eventually, in early December, Angel was able to take the B1 test and successfully passed all B1 modules at the Goethe Institute.

Angel decided to pursue the Ausbildung Program as a Restaurantfachfrau/waiter because she loves interacting and communicating with new people and gaining experiences and insights from various individuals.

In January 2022, Angel secured an Ausbildung contract by choosing the Waiter/Restaurantfachfrau major at Ringhotel Siegfriedbrunnen in Grasellenbach, Hassen State. In February 2022, the paperwork process began, including passport, visa, document translation, and Apostille arrangements, all of which were completed by July 2022. Finally, on June 5th, 2022, became a historic day for Angel as she departed for Germany to participate in the Ausbildung program.

Reflecting on her educational journey so far, Angel is grateful for the foundation of knowledge she acquired at Rudi Russel Akademie. “Rudi Russel Akademie focuses more on practice than theory, and what I like is that it's interspersed with playing games, so I never get bored and have a lot of fun while learning. The class size is small, so I can focus more, and it feels like private lessons. During my studies, I felt supported by the summary of B1 exam questions, so I wasn't clueless. What made me feel not alone was that Rudi Russel Akademie accompanied us from learning, getting the Ausbildung contract, visa processing, and other document arrangements. Besides that, after passing B1, there are additional German classes which help us to practice our German. And we also have English speaking classes to add to our skills in Germany.“, she explained.

Rudi Russel Akademie holds a special memory for Angel because this educational institution brought her together with friends and companions during her German language studies. Her passion for learning German is inseparable from the role of her favorite teachers, and also her determination.

As an alumna of Rudi Russel Akademie, Angel understands the specific concerns that sometimes hinder people from moving forward and making significant decisions. But she realizes that with determination and strong intentions, challenges can be overcome, and one can succeed. “You won't regret participating in the Ausbildung program in Germany, even though there are many obstacles to overcome. Believe that the results you obtain are worth the hard work you put in. The most important thing is never to give up; if you fail, you have to try again until you succeed.“, she advised.
